Helsinki Halloween Run 2026 will be run 24.10.2026!

Starting time for 5k and 10k is 18:30

There is also own runs for kids. Starting time for kids runs: 500m at 17:45 and 1000m at 18:00

COSTUME COMPETITION

The best costume at Helsinki Halloween Run will be awarded! This year the winner will be awarded with a pair of New Balance Fresh Foam Ellipse running shoes (1 pair).

There will be a dedicated photo wall and photographer at the race center in Kalasatamanpuisto capturing your costumes. If you want to enter the costume contest, come get your picture taken at the photo wall before your run (between 16.45-18). Please note your bib number must be visible for the photo!

Best costume will be chosen by a vote in our social media channels on the week after the race – follow Runner’s High and stay tuned.

START AND FINISH

The 2026 Halloween Run start and finish are located in Kalasatamanpuisto, Helsinki.

Each runner will be awarded a fantastic Halloween medal at the finish line.

RACE OFFICE AND BIB NUMBERS

The race office is located in the event area, in Kalasatamanpuisto. The race office is open on the race day from 16:00. At the race office you can pick up your bib number or late register for the event on race day by 18:00. Please note, late registration for Kids Runs is possible until 17:15!

You will receive your running number by email before the race office opens. Please be ready to show this email to the race office staff when picking up your bib number. You can also pick up your friend’s number by presenting their email. If you don’t receive the information about your number (do also check your spam folder), you will get it by your name from the race office on race day.

BAG STORAGE

Free bag storage has been arranged for participants, located indoors at Kalasatama Comprehensive School. Going to school through the courtyard. Bag storage is open on the race day from 16:00. Show your bib number when picking up the bag. 

REGISTRATION

Registration for 2026 event is open!

You can also do late registration for the event at the race office on the day of the event.

We do not receive cash, this also applies to late registrations made at the race office.

PRIZES

The top three finishers (women/men) will receive prizes. The winners (women/men) will receive New Balance Fresh Foam Ellipse running shoes. Prizes can be collected from the race office after the race.

All runners will receive a Halloween-themed medal and products from our partners at the finish line.

TIMING

Electronical timing application will be used. Please attach your number on the front of your running shirt or costume and keep it visible especially when arriving to the finish. If you attach the bib on your back or your pants, we cannot guarantee you timing.

You can also choose FunRun without timing.

MAXIMUM RUNNING TIME

Maximum time in 10 km race is 2 hours. 

CUT OFF: In 10 km route runners must reach the CUT OFF point at 5 km within 1 hour from the start, to be able to continue on the course. If runners are late, they will be directed to the finish line and will receive a time for the 5km distance.

TOILETS, CHANGING ROOMS AND SHOWERS

The toilets are located at the event area. Changing rooms, showers and more toilets can be found inside the Kalasatama Comprehensive School. Going to school through the courtyard.

FIRST AID

First aid will be available at the start/finish area.

REFRESHMENT STATION

There will be one hydration station on the 10 km route, at 5 km, serving water, sports drink and energy gels. 10 km runners continue to the second lap via the refreshment point, following the route marked in black on the route map.

Refreshments are also available at the finish for both of distances.

PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

There is some paid parking available in the surrounding area, but we recommend arriving by public transport. More info about routes and schedules at HSL-reittiopas.

ELITE RUNNERS

We offer free participation to the event for elite runners who have run under the following times in 2025-2026: 

Men:
5000 m / 5 km: 15.45
10000 m / 10 km: 33.00
Half marathon: 1.12.00

Women:
5000 m / 5 km: 18.15
10000 m / 10 km: 38.15
Half marathon: 1.22.00

To apply for a free registration as an elite runner, please send us an email to tapahtumat at runhigh.fi with details about your qualifying result (name of event, your time, link to results). The result must be from an official road or track race in 2025-2026.

PARTICIPATION WITH A WHEELCHAIR

Participants using wheelchairs are welcome to take part in the event. However, the course and event arrangements are primarily designed for runners, and the event is not suitable for wheelchair participants travelling at high speeds. For this reason, racing wheelchairs designed for competitive use are not permitted at the event.

If you are unsure whether your wheelchair is suitable for the event, please contact the organiser before registering.

PHOTOS

Event organizers will have full rights to publish the photos and video material taken during the event. We will also release photos and videos in our social media channels.

CANCELLATION OF PARTICIPATION

No cancellations of participation are required. We will not refund paid participation fees.

TRANSFER OF PARTICIPATION 

It is possible to buy transfer insurance, which allows you to transfer the registration to next year’s Helsinki Halloween Run or use the paid amount for another event participation. The price of transfer insurance is 10 euros. Please note that the transfer insurance entitles you to one transfer.

If transfer insurance has not been acquired at the time of registration, the customer has the right to transfer the registration for the event to another person for a transfer fee of 10 euros, but not the right to transfer the registration to another event or to the following year.

The organizer will not refund paid registration fees under any circumstances.

1. Transfer to another person

You can transfer your participation to another person (until 16.10.2026) for a transfer fee of 10 euros if you have not purchased transfer insurance in advance. One transfer to another person is included in the transfer insurance purchased in advance.

Note: Registration paid with sport vouchers cannot be transferred to another person.

2. Transfer to next year’s Helsinki Halloween Run (requires transfer insurance)

If the participant has purchased transfer insurance at the time of registration, it is possible to transfer participation to next year’s event once by 23.10.2026.

3. Transfer to another event (requires transfer insurance)

If the participant has purchased transfer insurance at the time of registration, it is possible to transfer the entry for another Runner’s High event once (until 23.10.2026). After the transfer request your registration will be cancelled, and you will get a discount code worth the same amount of money you paid for your registration.

How can I transfer my participation?

When transferring your participation to another event or person, or to next year, please contact tapahtumat@runhigh.fi with the following information:

• Name of the original participant
• Name of the person who will make the new registration (if participation will be transferrer to another person)
• To which event the transfer will be made

After the transfer request you will get more detailed instructions by email.

FORCE MAJEURE

If the event has to be canceled or cannot be held due to a force majeure, you are entitled to a refund of the registration fee. You must request the refund from the event organizer within 30 days of the organizer’s announcement of the event’s cancellation. However, the organizer is not responsible for any delays or damages resulting from the event’s cancellation or postponement due to force majeure, and you are not entitled to compensation for any additional or useless expenses incurred, such as accommodation or travel costs. Force majeure is an event or occurrence beyond the control of the organizer which the organizer could not reasonably be expected to have taken into account at the time of the conclusion of the contract or to have avoided or overcome it or its consequences. Force majeure comprehends both natural disasters and events such as civil unrest, risk to general safety, orders of public authorities or other superior force that prevents the organizing of the event.
